I'm so confused.
This morning I got up when D's alarm went off at o'gawd early to pee on a stick. I was expecting a confirmation of my fears. I had imagined a day of crying and a night of serious cabernating. I had written a list of questions to ask Nurse Inga today about why this cycle failed and what we could do differently next time.
Instead... as me and D stand with our heads together staring at the little window to show us a minus..... we get this:
HOLY CRAP, I'm pregnant! I have no words. I'm flabbergasted! And now I'm even more puzzled/worried/freaking out about the spotting/bleeding... I'm so confused!!

Spotting & bleeding scares anyone TTC & for me it always means bad news, but there is a thing called implantation bleeding that some people experience. Hopefully that is what you are experiencing to.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to what Nurse Inga has to say.
Fantastic news - congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI've read that it's actually more common for IVF pregnancies to have a bit of spotting than not. Even in 'normal' pregnancies, a lot of people get it - my mother recently told me that she had proper bleeding for the first 10-14 weeks of ALL her pregnancies, and yet she still ended up having 6 healthy children. My sister also bled quite heavily early on in at least one of her pregnancies, and the baby was fine.
Hopefully Nurse Inga will be able to reassure you, but from what I understand as long as you're not having a lot of pain with the bleeding, it's not necessarily a bad sign.
My best friend had heavy bleeding for her last pregnancy. I'm now Godmother to Miss Woo, so it could be something normal.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that you got your BFP!!
Big hugs!!
xx
Hoping it's implantation spotting and nothing else! How exciting!

Yippeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! Big, big time congrats!
ReplyDeleteHon, are you on progesterone supplements? I bet you are and if so, that explains your bleeding. Progesterone irritates the cervix + wreaks a little havoc with your hormones. It's totally normal. When I was pg over the summer, I spotted (and not the relaxing brown kind, but a scary, bright red) from week 4 through 8. It was frightening but the checkups were fine.
Still, call Nurse Inga to get some reassurance. But lady, you are pregnant!
WOW! Implantation has to be what it was! I can't say that I blame you for being worried at all, but that beautiful positive is reason enough to bolster your hope! I'm hopeful for you!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I'm crying for you, I am so happy!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great piece of news to wake up to. Take a
few deep breaths, and smile......your pregnant!
You did it! You aren't pupo, you really are :) congrats :)
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I'm so happy it turned out differently than you thought! I don't have any experience at all but everything I've read has said spotting and even a heavier flow can be completely normal in the beginning. I'll be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteyippee! That looks like it's positive! I am so happy for you. I can't wait to hear what the dr says.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you both!

ReplyDeleteWHAT? WHAT? I am speechless and covered in goosebumps and THRILLED!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah!!! I was right, implantation bleeding!!! I bled bright red the day before beta which would have been 13dpo. I swore I was out and like you, was shocked by the BFP! The best thing to get the spotting/bleeding under control is to get off your feet and stay in bed as long as possible. Let hubby take care of you. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations!! So very happy for you :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beeeauuutiful plus sign! A big warmhearted congrats, girl! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Fantastic news!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand, spotting and even bleeding is almost common in early pregnancy. From all the different 'early pregnancy symptom' sites I've perused, I feel downright abnormal not having had any bleeding. So, I'm going to go with the "implantation bleeding" theory for you.
YAY! I mean, that's not even a faint positive-- that's a clear-as-day, no-need-to-squint GIGANTIC POSITIVE! Woohoo!
How did I miss this? Wow girl! Lots of happy thoughts heading your way. :)
ReplyDeleteWHOOO HOOOOO!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic lookin' pee stick!
